Choosing a keyring

Weight

Want it to feel good - not too heavy but also not too flimsy. You want it to fit comfortably in your hand.

Material

I do love silver keyrings, but silver does scratch. Therefore best to have a design where scratches will enhance it's look. A silver keyring fob that isn't brand new and hasn't been scratched I find slightly sad - obviously hasn't been used enough !

Name

Remember that although it seems like a great idea to put a name and address on a set of keys, you don't want to help a thief ! So you don't necessarily want anything on that will identify keys to your house to a stranger.

On the many (sadly) occasions that I have lost my keys, I have always been comforted by the fact that no-one can work out where they are for.

Shape

Because the keys and keyring will spend a lot of time in your pockets, rounded edges better as they are more comfortable and less likely to rip the material of your pocket or bag.
