I do like exhibiting my work. It is sociable (nothing like an Private View as an excuse for a party). It gives me an opportunity to see what particularly appeals to people and gain invaluable feedback. It is a relaxed atmosphere where I can discuss the direction my work is taking and clients can handle the pieces and examine the workmanship. However good photography and a web site are, holding the pieces and trying them on is more fun !
The combination of the web site and regular exhibitions means that I can avoid a regular shop rent and so can continue to enjoy my lifestyle and keep my prices reasonable. |
